Smith & Wesson 686 International Description:
In short, the S&W 686 is a six-shot double-action revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson and chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge. Also, it will chamber and fire .38 Special cartridges. Further, the .357 Magnum was developed from the .38 Special. The Magnum case is slightly longer to prevent magnum rounds from being chambered and fired in handguns chambered for the .38 Special. Also, Smith & Wesson introduced it in 1981. It is the stainless steel version of the 586, which was a blued steel finish.
The Smith & Wesson 686 is a medium frame, stainless steel revolver. The underlug barrel adds weight to the front of the gun, helping to reduce muzzle flip and absorb recoil. Coupled with its forged stainless steel chassis this firearm is durable, reliable, and capable of handling hot ammo while being comfortable to shoot.
In addition, Smith & Wesson L-Frame revolvers are built to suit the demands of the most serious firearms enthusiast. Also, available in six shot cylinders, the L-Frame has a strong, durable frame and barrel built for continuous Magnum usage. As police officers and hunters will attest, this firearm is made to withstand heavy use.
